The Bootheel Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission (BRPC) is a non-profit, voluntary association of local governments representing 63 cities in six southeastern Missouri counties: Dunklin, Mississippi, New Madrid, Pemiscot, Scott and Stoddard. The BRPC works with member communities such as Kennett on projects related to Community Development and Economic Development, and partners with them to create location packages for businesses and industries looking to expand or relocate in Missouri's Bootheel region. The Commission also assists members with applications for a variety of state and federal grants related to:
- Public Infrastructure
- Housing Rehabilitation
- Water and Waste Water
- Solid Waste Management
- Tourism Marketing
- Public Facilities
- Transportation Enhancement
- Alternative Energy (Solar, Wind, Geothermal, Water and Biomass)
The Commission also hosts a regional Location One site online. Location One Information System (LOIS) is the nation's oldest, largest online database devoted to economic development, featuring geographic and economic information, as well as available commercial and industrial sites, locations and buildings, geared toward companies looking to grow or relocate. (www.locationone.com) The BRPC Location One site features availabilities throughout the Bootheel. There are four Kennett listings included on the site.
In addition, the BRPC works in the area of business finance by administering a pair of gap-financing loans, to help start-ups in the creation of new jobs:

The BRPC is funded by a comination of state, federal and local resources. It is governed by elected and appointed member-city and county officials. The panel meets the third Thursday of each month.
